Lufthansa October passenger volume rises 2.7%


German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG Monday said the group's October passenger volume rose 2.7% on the year with all units contributing to successful capacity management and improved load factors.
MAIN FACTS:
-Lufthansa group's October passenger volume amounted to 9.38 million.
-The group's passenger load factor increased 1.3 percentage points to 79.0% in October.
-German carrier Lufthansa Passenger Airlines' passenger volume rose by 3.8% to 6.86 million in October, while its load factor increased by 1.0 percentage points to 77.9%.

-October sales at Lufthansa Cargo decreased by 10.1%, but were offset by a capacity reduction of 10.9%, leading to a positive change in load factor at the unit of 0.6 percentage points.
-Capacity was cut sharply by 4.6% on American routes, helping offset a 1.0% fall in sales on the year, and increasing the load factor by 3.1 percentage points to 84.9%.
-All group airlines contributed to the successful capacity management and improved load factors, the company said.
-The pricing environment developed positively, the press release says.
-Lufthansa group includes the airline's passenger and cargo divisions, as well as Germanwings, SWISS, and Austrian Airlines.
